There he met Eric Liddell (Chariots of Fire), former Olympic champion and a missionary, who taught him to love his enemies, the Japanese. Stephen later came to Japan and served the Lord as a missionary for 38 years. He works with the Agape ministry promoting reconciliation between Britons who were Japanese POWs and the Japanese. He emphasizes forgiveness, reconciliation and the importance of teaching the younger generation about peace. He wants to pass on what he learned from Liddell to the young people of today.
