The Japan With a Special Secrecy Law and the Church ( Himitsu Hogohoh no Nihon to Kyohkai )
Shinshu Study Group 21st Century Booklet #54.
This is a call to action for evangelical Christians to be involved in social issues in the context of growing nationalism resulting in laws such as the new Special Secrecy Law. The model presented is the work of Shohzoh Tanaka (1841-1913), a Christian who fought the Ashio Copper Mine that released pollution into a river poisoning fish and the people who ate them. We cannot be silent like too many Christians were leading up to WW2. Then too a Secrecy Law was used to imprison those who opposed government polices, including Communists and Holiness Church pastors. A5 size, 168 pp.
