Tatsue Morishita

It tells the story of how famous novelist Ayako Miura, who wrote Freezing Point and Shiokari Pass, became a Christian. As a school teacher during WWII, she taught the required curriculum teaching willingness to die for the country and the emperor. After defeat, Ayako knew what she had believed was a lie, and she wondered if she could ever believe in anything again. While she was suffering with spinal tuberculosis, she met a fellow patient who radiated love. He was a Christian and through him she met Christ. She read the Bible where Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever who believes in me, even though he dies, will live.” She found that even in suffering God loves us and is with us.
